Nova Commerce Storefront
A cinematic product browsing experience concept for modern DTC brands—focused on clarity, speed cues, and conversion-friendly hierarchy.
- Next.js
- TypeScript
- CSS Modules
- Edge-ready UI
Overview
Nova Commerce is a demonstration storefront concept exploring how premium cyber-tech aesthetics can coexist with clean merchandising layouts.
Problem / Design Challenge
Many e-commerce templates either look generic or bury product clarity under decorative noise. The design challenge was to keep drama while preserving scanability.
Proposed Solution & Architecture
Proposed architecture uses a statically generated catalog shell, modular product cards, and a restrained glass cart panel. All outcomes here are conceptual until a live catalog and checkout are integrated.
Assumptions (conceptual work)
- Catalog content and imagery would be supplied by the merchant
- No real inventory or pricing systems are connected in this concept
Key Features
- Hero merchandising plane with product-first hierarchy
- Filterable collection grid layout
- Product detail focus states and sticky purchase panel concept
- Accessible card markup and keyboard-friendly controls
Engineering Decisions & Trade-offs
- Prioritized visual hierarchy over animated excess
- Kept checkout intentionally out of scope until a verified payment provider exists
- Used CSS Modules for predictable theming without a large UI kit
Testing & Verification Notes
No production checkout or payment flows were implemented or tested. Verification for this record covers design-system consistency and static page rendering only.
Lessons Learned
- Premium visuals work best when product imagery and typography stay primary
- Conversion UI should not compete with neon accents for attention
Next Steps
- Connect a verified product data source
- Integrate server-side cart and payment webhooks when available
