Orbit AI Workflow Prototype
A prototype narrative for chaining prompts, approvals, and API actions into an auditable automation workflow.
- TypeScript
- Workflow UI
- API adapters
- Event log model
Overview
Orbit AI is a front-end demo of how teams might review, approve, and replay AI-assisted business workflows with clear human checkpoints.
Problem / Design Challenge
Automation demos often hide failure modes and human oversight. The challenge was to visualize control, not just magic output.
Proposed Solution & Architecture
The prototype proposes a node timeline with status chips, approval gates, and a read-only run log. Execution against real models or production APIs is out of scope here.
Assumptions (conceptual work)
- Model providers and CRM/API targets would be configured separately
Key Features
- Step graph with approval checkpoints
- Simulated run console with illustrative output
- Retry and skip affordances as UI-only concepts
- Audit-friendly event list layout
Engineering Decisions & Trade-offs
- Labeled all generated text as simulated
- Kept credentials and provider keys entirely out of the client
- Focused on operator clarity over agent spectacle
Testing & Verification Notes
No live model calls, webhooks, or production automations were executed for this portfolio entry. UI interactions are local simulations only.
Lessons Learned
- Operators need explicit pause and approval moments
- Workflow demos should never appear to mutate real systems
Next Steps
- Wire approved steps to a verified automation backend
- Add structured logging once a data store is available
